Goodbye Baby! (This is where mommy cries)
Mood:  sad

There has been one side effect to school I was not expecting...Chloe is losing her babyish ways (this is me crying!!!!). She has began talking more and with clearer sounds. Also, she is going to the potty again; although, not completely trained. She is following directions better and helping around the house. Plus, she won't let me snuggle her as much...  (I'm crying again!!!)

About Our Schedule
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: The Day in Review

Well, I am sure most are wondering why there were no post Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. So I thought I would talk a little about our schedule. Monday-Thursday are regular school days. From about 9:30 am-11:30 am we have lessons with a break in between each. Then, at 11:30 we break for lunch. After lunch, we have a rest period from 12pm-2pm. At 2pm, we return to lessons. This is usually our craft or hands-on activity time. About 3pm, we break for outside recess, weather permitting. If not, we have a movie indoors. We come in about 5pm for supper preparations. After dinner, we take baths and have our bible study. Bedtime is at 7:30pm. This is not a hard schedule for children their age. They only have about two ours of sit down lesson time. Which is broken into very easy segments and they complain loudly if I try to skip anything.

Friday is library and errand day. They do not have any "formal" lessons this day. On Saturday we do personal development activities.  Such as: Spanish, Sign Language, and self esteem. These are mostly studied through music, video, and coloring projects. There are no serious demands placed on them. Sunday is for church and rest; absolutely NO school or anything else goes on on this day. This is why there were no posts until today. Tonight I will add a review of today's lessons and activities. Also new photos will be added on the main web page's photo page.

It's hard when we don't get our way
Mood:  hug me

Beckah has had a little trouble adjusting to the rules in the formal classroom. She is good at raising her hand. However, the power struggle really comes on strong when we try to do hands-on activities. Basically, she thinks she should be in charge, of everything. She is having to learn that is not the case...and quickly.

Both of them have had a little issue with "mommy" and "teacher" and seperating the two. However, I expected that. One thing remains, the schedule is helping!!

How can I test My Parents Today?
Mood:  accident prone
Topic: Rebeckah

Rebeckah has reverted back to pottying on herself. I have gone over the right way to wipe and stay clean, but it does not seem to be helping. She also has real problems recognizing letters and writing backwards. i am looking into this.

We have started a new method called The Transformation Program with her and Chloe. We are in the first day and it seems to be helping. The schedule does not hurt either.

Regardless of all of this, she is still a loving an energetic child. Everyday she provides challenges, but also smiles. I could not live without her in my life!

I Don't Have to and You Can't Make Me
Mood:  lazy
Topic: Chloe

Chloe has begun talking up a storm. all of the books we are reading are really helping. I'm convinced that is the reason. Of course, with all that talking, she has become quite the dictator.

Today she was telling me how to change her diaper and make sure she was perfectly clean. You know what that signals to me?? It is high time she wiped her own butt!!

But, that isn't the only place she thinks her advice is helpful, try everywhere!! Everything I do she has advice on how to do it or an opinion on how I'm doing it. What a character!!

School On The Fly
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: The Day in Review

Today we continued our study of  horses in our social studies/history lesson. This Week's topic is Spanish Mustangs. The girls really listen to all those facts just because they are about horses.

In science, we studied insects with "The Cat in The Hat." We also learned about all the different things that grow in the garden. These topics were continuing our Spring theme. Tomorrow we will be planting flowers from cuttings and seeds and practicing proper care while we watch them grow.

Yesterday, we continued our study of Texas in geography. We also used the alphabet to identify important people, places, animals, and things in Texas.  We also read about the azalea trail which is very close to where we live.

We made spring collage's outside for craft also continuing our Spring theme. Pictures are on the web site.

In language and math, we practiced the alphabet and reviewed our numbers . We finished the school day with a video about animals in the rain forest and a "just for fun" story book.

Before bed, we read the story of Noah's ark and said our prayers.

Mood:  down
Topic: The Day in Review
We are still here and truckin and that is all I can say. I am in one of my down phases but, I am hoping it won't last. I have been trying to get into a study but, no luck so far with that. I hope next week will look up; who knows, maybe David will come in for awhile.

Leaps and Bounds
Mood:  on fire
Topic: Trucking With David
I am so proud of David  and I can not say it enough. He has finally found his calling and he does it so well now that he is out of the newbie phase. The problems I mentioned before cleared wonderfully and David has found his place as a dedicated team driver. His partner is the best we could have asked for and I hope the good tidings will continue for a long time.

Chloe is the essence of terrible two's! She has boundless energy and test the limits of everything, including her own body..LOL I am very surprised she has not broken an arm or leg. My only concern and it is deep in the back of my mind is- am I giving enough discipline or am I still being too soft? I want to be able to say I do things equally but sometimes I know I still see that little bundle as my last baby.

Mood:  bright
Topic: Rebeckah

Rebeckah has come along way since our move here. I can't help but feel a sense of pride in the changes that have taken place in her behavior and her emotional state. I'm glad I didn't jump into anything before I watched the ajustments she was more than capable of making. She is bright, happy, and taking on the world. We have occasional setbacks. However, I feel like as time goes on she will show us just what she is made of and it is tough stuff let me tell you!!

She is now trying her wings in ballet and tap. She loves ballet the most, of course! I am impressed with how much she practices for a four year old. I feel the next step for her will be school.  Once she has made that transition and sees that there are other kids in the world besides sissy Chloe, look out world!!! LOL!!

On a final note, I would like to share with you the fullfillment of one of Rebeckah's dreams. If you have seen the photo page of my website, you already know what I am talking about. About a week and a half ago Rebeckah was able to see, interact with, and ride horses for the first time; thanks to her Paw Paw and a family friend. She even saw a mare who was carrying a foal. The mare allowed Rebeckah to feel her belly while the foal was moving. It was quite an experience!! One that neither of us will soon forget.
